I really need this to work under XP.
I have been unable to use the SD card reader. He said eventually that he had no idea what to do. I then asked for his supervisor named "Alex dell inspiron 6400 card reader, who spent another 30 minutes - including directly connecting to my machine and reinstalling everything himself. He then told me that I would have to go to the paid support line to get help with this. I was feeling real good about purchasing the premium 4 year warranty at this point.

In all fairness, I have had some technicians who were both knowledgable and respectful in the past, but this seems to be more the exception than the rule lately. Reader isn't detecting any cards.

I read numerous Dell support forum and other web pages dell inspiron 6400 card reader problems with SD and MMC cards, without finding an effective solution. The cards used are readable in at least two other computers. It is not a bad card, and it is not a problem with SDHC cards particularly.
